Choosing the right microphone for each application is an essential part of ensuring that people hear what you want them to hear. Each microphone has it’s own pickup pattern - the area around the mic’s capsule which will be amplified. For instance some microphones will allow you to hear everything, from quite a distance, while some will only pick up from one direction, at very close range.

Some microphones are designed to be hand held or stand mounted, while others can be suspended above performers, head or body worn, clipped onto an instrument, or placed discretely out of view whilst still providing excellent quality sound reproduction.

Our hire stock includes a vast range of microphones, both wired and wireless, to cover every application. All of our microphones are of a professional standard, from brand leaders such as AKG, Audio Technica and Sennheiser. We also stock a wide range of stands for floor, podium, lectern and table use; telescopic boom arms, goosenecks, mic clips and anti-shock mounts, leads of any length, drums of cable in 50m or 100m lengths, multicores of 4, 8, 12 and 16 ways; foam windshields and countless other accessories.

Headphones & Headsets for Commentators & Talkback Systems

We have a selection of headsets available for hands-free commentary, announcing, and talkback systems. The Beyerdynamic DT-109 headset is based on the industry standard DT-100 fully enclosed headphones, designed for maximum comfort when worn for long periods, and is available with a choice of studio quality noise-cancelling microphones.

We also stock the Sennheiser HMD 25-1 Sportscaster headset, which is based on a pair of lightweight closed headphones, with a close contact MD-414 super-cardioid dynamic mic capsule on an adjustable boom arm.

As well as these headset options, we also have hire stock of the Beyerdynamic DT-100 headphones, without microphone, terminated in a stereo 1/4” jack plug. Ideal for monitoring mixing desks etc.
