David Groom Sound
Limited is based near Wrexham, North Wales, and was established in 1978
as an Electrical Contracting business, trading under the name
of David Groom Electrical. The business still remains listed
on the roll of NICEIC Approved Contractors. In 2003, we became
a limited company, and now trade as David Groom Sound Limited. We are full members of the Professional Sound and Lighting Association, PLASA. |

The company has diversified into hire, sales
and installation of sound systems, and in recent years has
expanded to become the largest company in Wales and the North
West, specialising in the hire of Public Address Systems for
outdoor events.
We are still an expanding company, becoming
more and more successful through commitment to our customers'
needs. Our aim is to provide quality, reliable goods and high
standards of service to all our customers, at realistic prices.

In 2004, the company undertook to provide Public
Address Systems for the Royal Welsh Centenary Agricultural
Show. Following a highly successful event, the company was
awarded a long term contract and is now the preferred contractor
for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society.
The Royal Welsh Show is the largest event of
its kind in Europe, and takes place over four days in July
each year, attracting well over 200,000 visitors from around
the world. The contract also includes the very popular Royal
Welsh Smallholder and Garden Festival over two days in May,
and the highly successful Royal Welsh Winter Fair, which is
now held over two days, just prior to Christmas.
At the start of 2008, we moved to new larger premises on Penley Industrial Estate near Wrexham. The new location offers greatly improved facilities for staff and visitors alike, and allows us to build on both our range of hire stock, and the level of service we pride ourselves on.
In 2009 we were asked to provide PA and communications services for the Shrewsbury Flower Show, the oldest Horticultural Show in the world, attracting around 55,000 visitors over two days in August. Following a highly successful first year, we look forward to returning in 2010 to begin our longer term contract with Shropshire Horticultural Society.
